Kan medborgarjournalister skriva läsligt?

Hypergene MediaBlog: "Steve Outing has a piece that begins to address some of the more pesky problems of citizen media - credibility. With more and more questions being raised about Wikipedia's credibility, now is probably as good time as any to face the issue at large."

Sploggar parasiterar på bloggintresset

Newsweek/Technology:: "That's right - in addition to e-mail spam and instant messenger spam (spim), there's a new form of exploiting the Net's openness-splogs. 'It's due to the fact that readership of blogs has grown so much,' explains Jason Goldman, product manager of the Blogger division of Google."

Kommentarer:

"Avundsjuk, han är så avundsjuk "
"Precis så!"
"Dekonstruera bloggarna"
"Skriv som en bloggare!"

Betalnyhetssajter i mycket svag medvind

CNET News.com: "The New York Times says 135,000 people have subscribed to TimesSelect, its online offering which includes access to columnists and other fee-based daily content.
That would mean annual revenue of just under $7 million if each subscriber signed up for the annual rate. The New York Times Co.'s total revenue was over $3.3 billion in 2004, with expenses approaching $2.8 billion. Clearly, TimesSelect is far from a financial game-changer.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal, which has offered subscription-based online service for several years, claimed it had over 700,000 paying customers by the end of 2004. But it already had over a half million by the end of 2000. The recent growth rate of Journal online subscriptions doesn't bode well for TimesSelect growth beyond 2008. "

Nyhetstidningar på nätet äkar snabbare än nätanvändningen

CNET News.com: "Newspaper Web sites have grown 11 percent year over year to 39.3 million visitors. That increase surpasses the growth in number of total active Internet users, which grew 3 percent, according to data released Tuesday by research firm Nielsen/NetRatings.
Furthermore, almost one out of four U.S. Internet users reads online versions of newspapers, the study said."

SportTVjätte storsatsar på mobilen

ESPN the ring tone: In the zone on a cell phone | CNET News.com: "ESPN has crammed everything it has learned about television into the guts of a black Sanyo cell phone with red keys and a 2.1-inch screen that dishes out scores, highlights, news, trivia and fantasy content with depth and zippy clarity. In time, it will deliver full games shrunk to one-fifteenth or one-twentieth their usual TV size.
This is Mobile ESPN, an empire in a pocket, a digitally endowed companion with a tiny Dickie V. or a wee Chris Berman available at a button's push for those minutes and hours spent away from one's television.
'What's next, implants?' said Keith Olbermann, a former anchor of 'SportsCenter' who is now the host of MSNBC's weeknight 'Countdown' show. 'They were once bound by cable. It was a cable success. Now, they're detaching from cable. Just jam it in your pocket, and you're ESPN.' "
